This is going to be my last Blogtober post. I am not going to be doing tomorrow's post because it will be Halloween and I don't think I will be wanting to sit down at the computer. Also, the prompt is "Your Halloween Costume", and I will be posting pictures of my costume on Nov. 1.
(I am going to be Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter. I was going to be Katniss Everdeen, but I changed my mind).
So, I'm still not completely caught up. But I'm getting there.
Leggings & Pants
They are not the same thing.
Know the difference.
Note: I have nothing
against leggings.
I like leggings, and
I think they can be really
cute.
#1. Material
Leggings are pretty thin. They are soft like a tee shirt.
Pants are thicker. This is important.
#2. Usage
Pants you can wear with any shirt. It can be a longer shirt, or it can be shorter.
LEGGINGS ANT PANTS ARE NOT MEANT TO BE WORN THE SAME WAY.
In my opinion, it looks bad to wear leggings the way you would wear pants. It looks like pajamas. Pants have it easier than leggings, but it doesn't take much to make leggings look really cute.
Leggings are meant to worn with a longer shirt/short dress. You can even wear shorts over them. (You just need something to cover your butt.)
I have nothing wrong with leggings. I just think that people should stop making leggings into pant.
For this one I was a little confused on what "Halloween Pinterest Roundup" meant, and how to do this post. So what I did was gathered a bunch of halloween-y pictures that got from my Pinterest.
All I want to say is that I hope you have an awesome job, awesome friends, and a nice place to live.
If not, than go out and get those things right now. I hope that by now I have been to Europe, done something successful in acting, written a couple songs, and have hugged Ross Lynch.
It just so happens that I just finished the book I am reading. (Seriously, like and less than an hour ago). I will tell you what I though of it, because I have started another book yet.
PRODIGY
This books was amazing!
(I don't want to give any spoilers, so this will probably be really short.)
This book is the second book in the Legend trilogy. It is set in future America, and the story goes back and forth between the two main characters, Day and June.
I LOVED this book! This trilogy is defiantly in my top favorites. (Harry Potter is my all time favorite, but these books are tied for second place with the Hunger Games). It kind of ended off on a cliffhanger, but not completely cause It seemed like a lot of stuff was resolved. I can't wait to start the next book, "Champion".
I have a lot of amazing memories that are set in fall. One that I really like is...
My family was visiting family and friends back where we used to live. It was Halloween and I went trick or treating with my friend Katie. Her neighborhood had a lot of houses and we ran as fast as we could from house to house. When we got back to her house we had so much candy. (More than I have ever collected on Halloween). Then we made piles of candy on the living room floor and traded the pieces we didn't want for ones we did.
It was a pretty basic Halloween, but it was my favorite.
Hello! My name is Jordan Sky- or Jordy - whichever works. I am a teenage aspiring author that enjoys photography, writing (obviously), green tea, and blogging.
When did you start your blog and what does it focuses on?
My blog started in May, I believe, of 2014 (though I’ve been blogging since 2012), and it focuses on showcasing a combination of my thoughts, photography, and poetry.
What are some things that make you really happy? What are you passionate about?
Spending time with friends, good books, working on my novels, the sound of rain against the rooftop, spending time in God’s word, etcetera. I am most passionate about my Savior and words (spoken or typed or written).
What's your favorite way to spend your free time?
I feel like I keep saying this, but writing and photography are pretty much my favorites. I also enjoy spending time having adventures within nature.
What are some of your favorite books?
Some of the teen books in which I like I wouldn’t recommend for people under about 15- not that they are necessarily bad, but I would have preferred to have waited to have read them until I was older for content reasons. Anyway, my absolute favorite series is the “Wolves of Mercy Falls” series (by Maggie Stiefvater); the “Huger Games” series (by Suzanne Collins); “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Paper Towns” (by John Green); the “Maze Runner” series (by James Dashner); the “Twilight” saga (by Stephnie Meyer); and so on and so forth.
What kind of music are you into?
I’m quite picky when it comes to music. I’m not sure there is a specific genre I’m in to, or if there’s a name for exactly what I like, but I suppose mostly classical. I also like when it is just a voice and a piano or cello.
When do you feel most inspired?
Most everything gives me inspiration: a quote, a song, a dream.
If you met a Genie who offered you three wishes, what would you wish for?
I don’t think it is within the realm of possibility for their to be both God and such thing as a Genie, but I would wish for as many people as possible to come to know Christ, my books to make it to the New York Times: Best Seller List and be turned into movies, and to live a generally good life.
What are your favorite smell/scents?
Pine Trees. Apples. Green Tea. Pumpkin.
If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it be?
I don’t think there’s anyone famous I really have the desire to meet, or at least there isn’t one I can think of at the moment.
If you could visit any country in the world, where would you go?
Germany. I am German, and am working on learning the language with my family.
What's your biggest blog related pet-peeve?
I don’t think I have one- nothing really bothers me about other people’s blogs because I recognize that everyone starts somewhere, and can only improve with time.
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
My life is terribly ordinary, or it has been thus far. I’m not sure there are any actresses that look remotely like me, so maybe someone yet undiscovered?
Name a couple blogs that inspire you.
Beloved Bluebird, Self Known, Loving Our Creator, Eve of Womanhood, this beauty, and many others I can’t think of because I’m tired.
Best piece of advice you could give someone who is in need of inspiration?
Make the most of everything. Always look for the good. Read. And create memories.
Today's prompt is to rant about whatever you want to. That means I will be telling you all about my favorite band, R5. I could talk about them for forever, so get your popcorn ready!
My obsession started in June of last year.
It was my BFF, Anna's, birthday party sleepover. Before the party she said that we would be watching "Teen Beach Movie". She said that it was pretty good, and that it had a blonde guy in it that she thought I would like. A couple seconds into the movie and my friend, Hannah, and I were already talking of what we thought of "The Blonde Guy". By the end of the movie I was like "I got to learn more about this guy!" The whole rest of the sleepover he was all I thought about.
When I was home the next day, I did what anyone would do and googled
"Ross Lynch"
From his Wikapedia page I learned that he was in a band called R5, and on a Disney channel show called Austin & Ally. Next I typed "Austin & Ally" into the YouTube search box, then "R5". I watched the first episode of "Austin & Ally" and the "(I Can't) Forget About You" music video, and it all grew from there. Now I have been to one of there concerts [check out this post for the whole story], and watched about every video they have every filmed!
Let me tell you about them...
R5 is made up of four guys and one girl. All of their names start with R. They are all siblings except for Ellington Ratliff, their best friend and hopefully future brother in law.
The Lynch family originally lived in Colorado. When they were very little they loved to perform. The oldest, Riker, would have his little siblings put on a show with him, and they would perform it for their parents. They would sing, dance, and act together all the time. Their mom would call them R5 just to keep things simple. Like "R5, Get in the car!" When Riker got older he planned to move out to California to persure a carrier in the entertainment business. So when the time came the whole family moved out to CA.
In California they started going out on auditions etc. and Rocky started teaching himself to play the guitar at about the age of 16. Then Riker got a bass and started playing it, and Ross also started playing the guitar.
One day they had their friend Ellington Ratliff over to play drums with them. They had met him at a performing arts studio, and they wanted someone to play drums with them. That was when R5 was really formed. Riker, Rocky and Ratliff were all playing instruments together, and it didn't sound very good, but they had such a fun time that they knew that that was what they wanted to do.
They started playing shows wherever they could, and slowly grew a following. Around that time Ross booked the roll as "Austin Moon" on Disney channel's "Austin & Ally".
Now let me introduce you to the members of R5...
RIKER
Riker is the oldest of the band, and he plays bass. He has been on "Glee" and won second place on "Dancing With The Stars". He is very happy and optimistic.
RYDEL
Rydel is the only girl in the band, and she plays keyboard. She is very bubbly!
ELLINGTON RATLIFF
Is their best friend, and Rydel's boyfriend. He plays drums, and is super silly.
ROCKY
Rocky plays the guitar and is the most musical of the group. He is also very funny and loves mac 'n' cheese. The GIF above describes him perfectly.
ROSS
Ross is my favorite. He is the youngest of the band, play guitar, and is the lead singer. He also enjoys acting, drawing, flying airplanes, and photography. He also loves "Romeo & Juliet".
R5's family...
RYLAND
Ryland is the youngest Lynch, and he is not in the band. He is a DJ, and he recently released his first single "Fall Back in Love". He comes on tour with R5 and performs as their opening act. He also does the light show during the show.
STOMIE & MARK
Stormie and Mark (far left and far right) are R5's parents. They also come with R5 on tour. Mark does all the back stage/behind the scenes stuff, and Stormie is their stylist.
MINI R5
Mini R5 are their cousins. Their is a "Mini" for every member of R5 and Ryland.
Rydellington...
Rydellington is Rydel and Ratliff. *OTP*
An R5 Show
They say you never fully understand R5 until you've been to a show. At first I didn't think much of that, but after going to their show, I understand. There is something about it that is so amazingly wonderful.
If you want to read all about the show then you can check out [this post].
An R5 show includes:
Super nice and polite fans
Ryland DJ-ing before the show.
Playing "We are Family" before the show starts
and then the greatest time of your life.
And they always put their hands in a pile and yell "Ready Set Rock" backstage before the show starts.
R5's music
R5 released their second album this summer, called "Sometime Last Night". The music before that album was...
Ready Set Rock (EP)
Loud (EP)
Louder (Album)
Heart Made Up On You (EP)
(and then Sometime Last Night)
Their latest music video (All Night).
Before writing "Sometime Last Night", they had an album all ready to go, but they completely got rid of it. It was a big risk, but it paid off. After they got rid of their album they started writing their song in their garage. That is how "Sometime Last Night" came to be.
This year they also released a documentary, "R5 All Day, All Night" about their lives.
